Strengths: Anderson is considered one of the best pure shooters in this draft. He moves off the ball incredibly well, and possesses great elevation on his jump-shot, a quick release, gorgeous mechanics and deep range. He knocks down shots especially well coming off screens for the catch and shoot, but is also adept at pulling up off of a few short dribbles from mid-range. He is mentally tough and has the utmost confidence in himself and his shooting ability, showing no conscience whatsoever hoisting up shots, particularly in the clutch where he truly excels.
Weaknesses: Standing 6-4 or 6-5, Anderson does not have ideal size for the NBA shooting guard position. He was never in ideal shape in college following a bad skin infection he suffered. He is also just an average athlete in terms of his quickness and explosiveness, and will not be a shot-creating threat in the NBA like most players at his position. Defensively, he is not aggressive enough and lacks the size, length and lateral quickness to be considered a shut-down type. In terms of his passing, Anderson is more of a shot-finisher than a shot-creator; once the ball comes in, it usually does not come back.
Outlook: As a catch-and-shoot specialist, Anderson has a clear and defined role in the NBA. There have been many players in his mold who have succeeded, and just as many who have not. He has a chance of being drafted in the second round if a team feels they have a role for him and that he is value there. Regardless, he will get many looks in summer league and training camp and could be better off going undrafted, as he'd be able to survey the league and decide where he'd have his best chance of sticking.
Comparison: Voshon Lenard
