Syracuse holds off Pitt in championship game

Panther-lair.com Syracuse beat Pitt 65-61 to win the Big East tournament for the second year in a row. Syracuse jumped out to an early lead and the Panthers spent much of the night clawing their way trying to get back into the game. Carl Krauser led Pitt in scoring with 16 points. Syracuse's Gerry McNamara was named tounament MVP. Pitt is now 24-7.
